We are not a publicly funded company, but do rely on investment in art creation and its education to boot, so it’s not something we can take for granted. Part of our move forward includes thinking more sustainably in such unstable and unpredictable times, and developing a fluid business model that can adjust with the ebb and flow of such a changeable economy.

Over the years we have learnt that one space doesn’t suit all. Studio activity, especially in our communal environment, tends to be research driven – full of experimentation, prototyping and design. However, there are those moments when you need to make a hell of a noise, a hell of a mess and create outside the bounds of your usual studio space.

When the maquette was first unveiled, the response was exciting and extremely positive. Our hope was that Steve’s vision also communicated Jane’s – which, to everyone’s relief, it did.
